Over the past few months the popularity of THCa flower has exploded leaving many consumers confused. We would like to take this opportunity to explain in simple terms the wonderful science behind it all and lay to rest all misconceptions that spread like a disease on social media.
First, what is THCa flower? Basically, it’s just a cannabis plant that is higher in THCa rather than the active delta 9 THC at the time of harvest. However, applying a flame to the flower (otherwise known as decarboxylation) causes a rapid conversion of THCa to d9 THC.
There are others ways to explain this that require a lot of scientific words but this is the simplest and most complete version of the science that consumers need to know. It is not converted into delta 8 nor is it sprayed with any substances. THCa is just inactive d9 THC. No voodoo or magic spells are required to make this happen because nature’s perfect design gives humanity exactly what it wants despite lawmakers efforts. This is the intersection where mans law meets natures law. If you have ever witnessed a tornado or a hurricane than you are very aware of the immense power that nature wields.
Many people today fear the US government (Big Brother) due to a long held anti-marijuana stance that has roots in Reefer Madness™ and the War On Drugs™. The reality of it is the force of this movement towards legalization is running through these archaic beliefs like one of Joe Biden’s beloved trains. Not to mention that lawmakers were the people who passed federal laws that had exact wording about the amount of delta 9 THC allowed in a product on the market: 0.3%. This magical number shall not be surpassed and that was that. This is the exact same route that allowed delta 8 to be brought to consumers.
Will THCa flower get you high? That depends on the route you plan on taking to use it. If you dip the buds into ranch and eat it like broccoli, you will not get any effect. However, fire it up and you’re going to feel that effect, period. THCa is inactive until it is decarboxylated. With that being said, we sell our buds in good faith that their intended use is to be dipped in ranch. That is why we do not sell lighters or flame throwers on this site. Enjoy!
