By now you may be wondering why Chillohs mushroom gummies don’t contain the red cap. This is correct, they do not contain Amanita muscaria. Instead, they contain the lesser-known species pantherina.

 Here are the reasons why:

• Amanita pantherina contains only trace amounts of the muscarine. This alkaloid is found in Amanita species in varying amounts. High doses can cause tremors, convulsions, bradycardia (decreased heart rate) and hypothermia.
• A. pantherina is at least 5Xs more potent than A. muscaria, so less is required to get the same effect.
• In our subjective experience, it is a more enjoyable experience.

What is GABA?

            Gamma-aminobutyric acid better known as GABA is an inhibitory neurotransmitter. The nervous system has two modes: Parasympathetic (Rest & Relax) and Sympathetic (Fight or Flight). GABA plays an vital role in the parasympathetic nervous system. The presence of this neurotransmitter tells the central nervous system to relax. Increased levels of GABA cause a decrease in stress, anxiety, and insomnia.

Using Amanita

Amanita species contain the psychoactive compound muscimol. Fresh Amanita contains high amounts of ibotenic acid. This compound has less than desirable effects that have been known to cause excessive salivation, repetitive thoughts or actions, disassociation, and nausea. Dried mushroom caps have some degree of conversion of ibotenic acid to muscimol which lessens these undesirable effects. There are extraction methods that can fully reduce the occurrence of these effects.

Using a known extraction method, it is possible to rapidly convert ibotenic acid to muscimol. The extraction process doesn’t require any chemicals. The extraction solution is the most essential and abundant element on our planet, you guessed it, WATER! Through a controlled process of heat and pH adjustments we can remove most of the ibotenic acid, resulting in a potent extract of muscimol.

Expectations Using Amanita

Amanita does not contain psilocybin, therefore, expecting a “trip” will not yield the desired effect. Instead, one should anticipate these effects:

• Increased deep sleep and vivid REM sleep
• Sedative effects similar to THC or alcohol
• Relaxation
• A calm mind (the perfect complement to meditation states)
• Reduced stress due to stimulation of GABA receptors (explanation below)

What should you expect from Amanita pantherina gummies? 

The most common effects are relaxation, calmness, euphoria, and focus.  Higher doses may cause drowsiness. Each gummy also contains 10mg of full spectrum hemp-derived THC, 50mg of CBD. Amanita mushrooms are known to enhance dream-states.

WARNING: Amanita pantherina is more potent than the more common A. muscaria. Use with caution. Recommended dosage is one gummy until tolerance to A. pantherina is established. 

This supplement contains a standard dose of fully decarded extract that minimizes the ibotenic acid while increasing the muscimol content.
